Onion Patties (tastes just like onion rings and was featured in the "Best of the Best" cookbook recipe competition!)
3/4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornmeal 3/4 c. milk
2 1/2 c. onions, finely chopped
Mix ingredients together, then add milk. Batter should be fairly thick. add onions and mix thoroughly. drop by tablespoons into 1/2 inch of oil in skillet (365 degrees). Flatten slightly when you turn them. Brown on both sides until crisp.
Hershey™ Bar Pie (Featured in The Cleveland Plain Dealer)
17 marshmallows 1/2 pint whipped cream
1/4 lb. butter 1 graham cracker crust
6 Hershey™ bars with or without almonds
Melt marshmallows in top of double boiler with butter. Add Hershey™ bars. melt all together and stir well. Cool mixture slightly and add whipped cream. Pour into graham cracker crust and chill before serving.
Chicken N Stuff
Dressing:
6 c. bread crumbs, browned 1 tsp. onion, chopped
1/4 c. celery, chopped 2 eggs
1 tsp. parsley flakes 1/4 c. butter
salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients and add enough hot water to moisten. Place in a greased casserole.
Cream Topping:
1/4 c. butter 1 can cream of celery soup
1 c. chicken broth 2 c. cooked chicken
1 can cream of chicken soup salt and pepper to taste
Melt butter and thicken with flour. Add milk, salt and pepper. Cook until thick gravy. Add chicken, broth and soups. Pour over dressing. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
