No Peek Stew
2 1/2 lb. beef cut up into small chunks 2 potatoes, cubed
1 onion, minced 2 1/2 tsp. minute tapioca
6 carrots, cut up 2 tsp. salt
1 stalk celery, cut up 1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. tomato juice
Mix all ingredients together and cook for four hours at 250 degrees in a tightly covered casserole.
Hasty Tasty
1 pt. beef chunks 6 slices bread
2 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs 2 tbsp. butter
1 qt. corn 1 c. grated cheese
1 c. chopped onion
Place meat in baking dish. Beat eggs, add milk and salt. Add bread, corn, onions and pour over top of meat. Bake at 350
degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over all and bake until cheese is melted. Serves 8.
Amish Humor
The preacher came to call on me the other day. He said at my age I should be thinking of the hereafter. I told him, "Oh, I do that all the time, no matter where I am; in the parlor, upstairs, in the kitchen or down in the basement, I am always asking myself, now what am I here after?"
Impossible Pie
4 eggs 2 c. milk
1/2 stick melted oleo 1/2 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. shredded coconut 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 Bisquick TM
Put all ingredients in blender for 30 seconds at low speed. Pour ingredients into ungreased 10 inch pie tin. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
